Yesterday, students earned their first class reward. The class reward for their good choices and good behavior was to watch a mostly silent French film entitled,
The Red Balloon. The kids really got into it! They were talking to the screen and each other about their ideas about what would happen next, and laughing at the antics of the boy and his balloon. After students returned from specialties they were met with a surprise--their very own red balloons. They were ecstatic! They quickly tied their balloons onto their wrists or held on to them tightly and went outside so that they could watch their red balloons follow them, like had happened in the movie. It was wonderful to see them so excited about something they had just experienced.
