Despite all the confusion that ensued last week with what the terrarium/aquarium project actually contained, the results have been really fun in class! We've had two fish, two turtles, two grasshoppers, and 2+ moths in our classroom. Thankfully they've been successfully contained in their jars, cages, or bags. Friday was the first day of observations. Students were asked to write down what they saw in their terrarium/aquarium, make an accounting of their plants and animals (alive or dead), and then answer the question of why they think that is happening (Why is their animal still alive? Why are their plants still alive?).
Today, they did the same thing. I was able to get some pictures today of some of the creatures.
