Today was the French Food party reward for the class's good behavior. I should have taken pictures, but everyone (including myself) was enjoying the food so much that we didn't have time to take any! Students were able to choose to eat grapes, strawberries, tomatoes with vinaigrette, mini-croissants, slices of baguette, four preserve Bonne Maman jam, Nutella, Swiss cheese, brie cheese, and creme puffs. A lot of the students were brave and choose to try the brie cheese (which they hadn't had before)--many didn't enjoy it but they probably will when they get older and their taste buds develop some more.
Also today was the first day that our student teacher, Miss Wilson was in the class with us. She will begin teaching whole class and small group lessons next week. She is a wonderful teacher and can't wait to work with the students in our class.
Tomorrow from 2:30-3:15 is our Term 1 Sharing Day. Students will get to choose to share their writing from term 1--memoir, favorite things book, or mystery story. Popcorn will be served and parents are welcome to attend. If you are unable to attend, don't feel too badly. I will be recording the presentations which will be put onto the blog this weekend or next week.
