Today the students and I read an article about double dutch, followed by some sports poems. I extended an extra credit activity to my students for them to write a sports poem, a poem based on their favorite freetime activity, or to summarize a sports article in a magazine or newspaper.
Please encourage your child to do this! I will be awarding 5 points of extra homework credit which comes in handy when they turn homework in late or get some problems wrong. They can work on their poem or summary at school. We'll be sharing them on Friday during our class meeting time.
I did a relaxation technique time today with the class as part of health and teaching about stress. They really wanted the link so here it is.
